General Membership Meeting - Flood Insurance

Mr. Gilbert Giron, FEMA Region 6 Regional Flood Insurance Liaison, will be discussing the new rating methodology for flood insurance premiums under the NFIP.

Gilbert Giron has worked in floodplain management for the Federal Emergency Management Agency since 2015. He helped ensure communities maintain all requirements needed to participate in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).  Gilbert serves as the NFIP flood insurance expert for a five-state region. Gilbert holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Emergency and Disaster Management from American Military University, a Master’s in Public Administration from American Public University System, and the Certified Floodplain Manager designation.
