Join the Board of Directors
The Vermilion Chamber of Commerce is looking for Board Members who believe in the Chamber’s mission and are willing to play an active role in the governance of the Chamber--leaders who are willing to serve, who would like to make a difference in the community, and who have the ability to leave personal agendas out of the decision-making process.
Serving on the board should be a rewarding experience and should provide an opportunity for professional growth. So, you may ask, what are the responsibilities. A Member of the Board of Directors:
- Serves a minimum of 1 three-year term on the Board.
- Is accountable to the Chamber Board of Directors.
- Attends the Membership Awards Banquet
- Attends board meetings and important related meetings on a regular basis. The Board of Directors meet from 8:00 am – 9:30 am one day per month in the following months—February, April, June, August, October and December.
- Makes a serious commitment to participate actively in Chamber committee work.
- Volunteers for and willingly accepts assignments and completes them thoroughly and on time.
- Stays informed about chamber matters, prepares themselves well for meetings, and reviews and comments on minutes and reports.
- Builds a collegial working relationship with other board members that contribute to consensus.
- Participates in the chamber's annual evaluation and planning efforts.
- Participates in membership recruitment and fund raising for the organization.
Please complete the electronic Candidate Information Form by noon on Monday, December 1, 2025. Your Candidate Information Form will be submitted to the Nominating Committee for consideration and recommendation to the Board of Directors. Consideration factors for selection include, but are not limited to, business classification, geographic location, personal area(s) of expertise, extent of involvement and availability.
