Love Our Waterways: Vermilion Parish Community Cleanup
Join us for Love Our Waterways, a community cleanup dedicated to protecting and beautifying the waterways that are such an important part of Vermilion Parish.
The Vermilion Chamber of Commerce, Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office, Keep Abbeville Beautiful, and Keep Louisiana Beautiful are teaming up to bring volunteers together on Thursday, September 3, from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hwy 14 Bypass Boat Dock in Abbeville.
Volunteers will work along the shoreline and surrounding areas to remove litter and debris. We are also looking for volunteers with boats and kayaks who can help us reach areas from the water.
Whether you come as an individual, with your family, coworkers, organization, or community group, we would love to have you join us. You do not need a boat to participate. There will be plenty of opportunities to help from land!
Our waterways are part of what makes Vermilion Parish special. They support our wildlife, recreation, businesses, and way of life. This is a chance to spend a morning together, give back to our community, and make a visible difference.
Volunteers are asked to register in advance. If you plan to bring a boat or kayak, please indicate that when registering. Important safety information and additional cleanup details are also included on the registration form.
