Description of Presentation: Understanding legal do’s and don’ts when drafting an Employee Handbook and the critical provisions necessary to remain current on critical issues.
Speaker Bio:
Vicky Bowers is the founding partner of Bowers Law Firm, L.L.C., a multi-jurisdictional boutique law practice that concentrates in employment law, family law and government law. She is co-founder of the Bowers Mediation Group, offering the unique service of co-mediation with a mental health professional. She graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Law (chief justice, Moot Court Board) and Mount Holyoke College. She was a law clerk for Hon. Irvin Kilcrease, Jr., Chancery Court, Nashville, Tenn. Admitted to practice in Tennessee and Louisiana, she counsels businesses and government agencies with conflict resolution in employment-related matters, including internal investigations, policy and procedure development and harassment training. Ms. Bowers also represents employees in Title VII, FLSA, FMLA and workers compensation matters. She has completed more than 80 hours of mediation training with the Mediation Institution in Louisiana Civil, Commercial and Employment Mediation and is a Louisiana registered mediator. She is also a private mediator for the EEOC mediating cases across the state of Louisiana and Texas. Ms. Bowers also presents seminars on Human Resource Law-related matters.
