The Leadership Vermilion's mission is "to build a strong sense of community trusteeship by encouraging and empowering a well-informed citizen by educating\, equipping and developing individuals that are interested in strengthening our community with a commitment of involvement that will affect positive change in the Vermilion Parish area."\n\n\n\nBe one of the dynamic individuals selected to participate in Leadership Vermilion. During these sessions\, meet with local and regional leaders to examine issues of critical importance to the Vermilion Parish community. Site visits\, roundtables\, group discussions\, and hands-on applications allow for active engagement. The Leadership Vermilion program offers participants access to an extraordinary network of area leaders and a unique opportunity to strengthen leadership skills.\n\n \n\nThrough a nine-month period\, participants learn about different aspects of Vermilion Parish through monthly\, day-long sessions starting in January 2019. In addition to Team Building\, Leadership\, and Communication sessions\, participants learn about Tourism and Culture\, Education\, Commerce and Sustainability\, Public Safety\, Government and Legislative Affairs in Vermilion Parish.\n\n \n\nThe Leadership Vermilion Committee will select 20 class participants based on criteria like education and community involvement. The class fee for the nine-month program is $500. Class fees will pay speaker costs\, class materials\, lunch for each of the sessions\, a bus tour of Vermilion Parish and a bus trip to the state capitol.
