Vermilion Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for Class 5 of Leadership Vermilion. The Leadership Vermilion Program was formed in 2014 to develop informed and committed citizens in order to strengthen and improve the quality of life for all Vermilion residents. The leadership training program will be accepting applications for its 2018 class.

“The program is open to individuals from every sector of our community, but the number of participants in the program is limited to 20 participants,” said Lynn Guillory, Executive Director of the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce. Over a 9-month period, class participants receive training on topics important to Vermilion Parish residents and businesses including education, health and human services, communications, government, culture and recreation, economic development, leadership development, and the judicial system. The program offers participants a collaborative forum in understanding the facets of our community and the services provided to its citizens.

The Leadership Vermilion Steering Committee will select 20 class participants based on criteria such as education and community involvement. The class fee for the nine-month program is $500. Class fees pay for speaker costs, class materials, lunch for each of the sessions, bus tour of Vermilion Parish, and bus charter to the state capital.

Applications must be received by 12:00 p.m. October 4, 2017. Tuition is due upon acceptance into the program and is non-refundable. Applications are open to the public and individuals from all sectors are encouraged to apply. Call 893-2491 for your application or email Lynn Guillory at lynn@vermilionchamber.org.
